Be sure the controls are turned to OFF and the surface units are cool before attempting to remove them.
Drip

When properly seated, the locking
tab should lock onto flTecooktop rim
through the notch in flTedrip pan.
Surface Units
To clean the smtilce
units, turn the
control
to the highest
setting
t0r a
minute.
The coils will burn off' any soil.
Toremove a surface unit:
To remove
the dil I) pans for cleaning,
the surtilce
units nlust be removed
first.

Push the sm_ilce unit back toward
the receptacle
to flee the locking
tab fl'om the cooktop.

aboxe the drip pan and pull it out.
Do not lift the surface unit more than I inch.
If you do, it may not//e flat on the drip pan
when you plug it back in.
NOTE: Repeated
lifting of tile smthce
unit
more than 1 inch above the dil I) pan can
pemmnently
damage
the receptacle.
Toreplace a surface unit:

the dil I) pan into the recess
m the cooktop.
Make sure the
opening
in the pan lines up with
the receptacle.
]
h_sert the temfinals
of the stu_ilce
unit through
the opening
in the
drip pan and into the receptacle.
Locking tab

Push the surlilce unit in and down
to lock the tab in place so it rests
evenly in the cooktop.
Do not/?nmersethe surface units in l/wlds of
any klbcL
Do not dean the surfaceunits in a dishwasher
Do not bend the surface unit plug terminals.
Do not attempt to dean, adjust or in any way
repair the p/ugqb receptacle.
Drip Pans
Remove the smtilce
units. Then
lift out
the dil I) pans.
Place them in a covered
containe_:
Add
1/4 cup ammonia
and let soak several
hours or overnight.

and dry.
The drip pans ma) also be cleaned
in a
dishwasher:
Clean the area under the drip pans
often. Built-u I) soil, especially grease,
may catch fire.
Donotcoverthedrippanswith foil. Using foil so
dose to thereceptacle c ou/dcause shock, f ireor
damage to therange.
Support rod
Be sure all surface units are turned
off before raising the cooktop.
Lift-Up Ceoktep
Clean the area under the cooktop often. Built-up
soli, espec&//y grease,may catch fire.
To make cleaning
easier; the entire
cooktop may be lifted 11 I ) and SUl)ported
in the up position.
Be sure all the surlilce
traits are turned
off before
raising the cooktop.
The
suitilce
units and dil I) pans do not need
to be rei/loved;
howevei;
volt
I/l_ly relllove
one to make raising the cooktop
easier:
A SUl)l)ort rod will hold the cooktop
up
while you clean underneath
it.
After cleaning
under
the cooktop
with
hot, soapy water and a clean cloth, lower
the cooktop.
Be careflfl not to pinch
your fingers.
