To get an audio loop to play in sync with the internal tempo you will need to CURSOR
past LEN 2 times in RHYTHM ARRANGE EDIT and turn TEMPO MATCH to ON.
Loops and internal patterns can be used in the same arrangement.

Synchronization.

If you use a sequencer or an external drum machine you can sync it through MIDI so that
it will play in time with the internal rhythm arranger. Connect a MIDI cable from the
MIDI OUT of the BR-1180 to the MIDI IN of a sequencer or drum machine. Put the
sequencer into its external midi sync mode. (The terminology will vary on different
sequencers and drum machines. Look for terms such as "ext MIDI" or "slave" or "ext
midi clock" when you are setting your sync in options on a sequencer.) To set the BR-
1180 so that it will function as the clock master:
1) Press UTILITY.
2) CURSOR to UTIL:SYNC
3) Press ENTER.
4) Use the TIME/VALUE wheel to change GEN from OFF to MIDI CLOCK.
5) Press EXIT twice.
When you press PLAY, the BR-1180 and the external sequencer will both start.
TIP: Plug the audio outputs of the drum machine or keyboard or sound module that is
being triggered by the sequencer into the L-LINE-R and you can set it up so that you can
monitor input without recording it.
1) Press UTILITY.
2) CURSOR to SYSTEM
3) Press ENTER
4) CURSOR to SUB MIXER.
5) Use the TIME/VALUE wheel to turn it to ON.
This will allow you to record "live" parts through the other inputs while monitoring your
sequenced parts without using up extra tracks. When you are ready to bounce down your
tracks to 9/10 for your final mix, the signal coming in on the Sub Mixer will be included
in the mix down.
MIDI Clock versus MIDI Time Code.
MIDI Clock is typically what you will find on drum machines and sequencers as it
uses measures and beats as its reference. MTC or MIDI Time Code uses hours, minute,
seconds and frames. It is useful for time locking tape based recorders or video
machines.
