• NE PAS brancher si le commutateur est en po-
sition de marche, ce qui pourrait provoquer des
lesions corporelles ou des dommages ou
blessures personnels pourraient s'ensuivre..
• Le cordon bouge rapidement lors du réenrou-
lement. Garder les enfants à l'écart et assurer
un parcours libre lors du réenroulement du cor-
don pour éviter les blessures.
• NE PAS utiliser de prise au-dessus des
comptoirs, sous peine d'endommager des
objets dans les environs.

cordon pour qu'il ne
s'enroule pas
accidentellement
REMARQUE: Cet aspirateur est nanti d'une fiche
polarisée, une broche est plus large que l'autre,
pour réduire les risques de choc électrique. La fiche
ne pourra être insérée dans une prise polarisée que
d'une seule façon. Si la fiche s'insère mal, l'inverser.
Si elle ne s'insère toujours pas, faire appel à un
électricien qualifié pour l'installation d'une prise
appropriée. Ne pas changer la fiche de quelque
façon que ce soit.
3. Brancher le cordon polarisé dans une prise de
120 V près du plancher.
Pour enrouler: débrancher l'aspirateur. Tenir la fiche
pendant l'enroulement pour éviter blessures et
dommages. Tirer légèrement pour dégager les
cliquets de verrouillage et le cordon s'enroulera.
4. Pour abaisser les
rallonges, appuyer sur
l'électrobrosse Power-
Mate ®
avec le pied et
tirer les rallonges
vers l'arrière.
ATTENTION
Ne PAS laisser longtemps fonctionner le Power-
®
Mate dans un seul endroit en sa position verti-
cale. Ceci pourrait endommager la moquette.

OVERLOAD PROTECTOR
The Power-Mate ® has built-
in protection against motor
and belt damage should
the agitator jam. If the
agitator slows down or
stops, the overload
protector shuts off the
Power-Mate ® . The canister
motor will continue to run.
To correct problem: Turn off and unplug
vacuum cleaner, remove obstruction, then
press overload protector reset button.
If the problem persists, have the
vacuum cleaner serviced by a Sears or
other qualified service agent.
WARNING
Personal Injury Hazard
Always unplug the vacuum cleaner
before cleaning the agitator area as
agitator may suddenly restart. Failure to
do so can result in personal injury.

boards or next to
furniture to help
remove dirt trapped at
carpet edges.

HOW YOUR VACUUM CLEANER WORKS

The vacuum cleaner creates suction that
picks up dirt. Rapidly moving air carries the
dirt to the dust bag through the airflow pas-
sages. The dust bag lets the air pass
through, while it traps the dirt.
For best cleaning results, keep the airflow
passage open. Check the starred areas
occasionally for clogs. Unplug from
outlet before checking.
SUCTION CONTROL
The suction control
increases or decreases
the suction for different
fabric and carpet
weights. Opening the
control decreases
suction for draperies and
lightweight rugs. Closing
the control increases
suction for furniture and
carpets.
THERMAL PROTECTOR
This vacuum cleaner has a thermal
protector which automatically trips to protect
the vacuum cleaner from overheating. If a
clog prevents the normal flow of air to the
motor, the thermal protector turns the
motor off automatically. This allows the
motor to cool in order to prevent possible
damage to the vacuum cleaner.
To correct problem: Turn the vacuum
cleaner off and unplug the power cord
from the outlet to allow the vacuum
cleaner to cool and the thermal protector
to reset. Check for and remove clogs, if
necessary. Also check and replace any
clogged filters. Wait approximately
thirty (30) minutes and plug the vacuum
cleaner in and turn back on to see if the
motor protector has reset.
