Troubleshooting chart

There is fuel
1. Fuel
Check if there is
fuel in the fuel Some fuel
tank
No fuel
2. Compression
Use electric starter
to see if there is
compression
3. Ignition
Remove spark
plug and check
electrodes
4. Battery
Use electric
starter
Remove the
fuel hose from
the fuel cock.
Turn the fuel
cock to "OFF"
Turn the fuel
cock to "RES"
Supply fuel
There is compresson
No compression
Wipe clean with dry
Wet
cloth
Attach spark plug
Dry
cap and ground to
chassis
Engine turns
Battery good
over quickly
Engine turns Check fluid, recharge,
over slowly check connections
Water or dirt
mixed in fuel
Turn the fuel
Check fuel flow
cock to "ON"
Restart engine
Compression normal
Ask a Yamaha dealer to inspect
Use electric
starter
