CLEANING AND CARE

Cleaning

A clean freezer makes for better food
STORAGE and greater EFFICIENCY.
Before CLEANING THE INSIDE of the
refrigerator or freezer, UNPLUG the appliance
from the socket.
It is advisable to give the appliance a
GENERAL CLEAN (inside and out) before
STARTING FOR THE FIRST TIME.
Once the machine is in use it should be
cleaned REGULARLY:
- FREEZER COMPARTMENT, whenever you
DEFROST.
- REFRIGERATOR, we advise ONCE A
MONTH, not forgetting the defrost WATER
OUTLET.
- EXTERNALLY, the outside of the appliance
does not affect its operation and we leave it
to you to judge when it needs cleaning.
- CONDENSER (the BLACK GRILLE at the
back), clean with a VACUUM CLEANER or,
failing this, a brush, at least TWICE
YEARLY. A CLOGGED CONDENSER obs-
tructs the DISSIPATION OF HEAT, raises
your power CONSUMPTION and affects the
OPERATION of your appliance. NEVER
USE
ABRASIVE CLEANING PRODUCTS OR
SOLVENTS.
We advise SOAPY WATER applied with a
SOFT CLOTH followed by drying with a
DRY CLOTH.

Switching off cold compartments
Always remember that your new COMBINED
appliance HAS TWO INDEPENDENT SYS-
TEMS and thus allows you to switch either off,
leaving the other on.
If you want to SWITCH OFF all or part of
your appliance (perhaps because you are
going to be away for some time) follow the
instructions bellow:
- To disconnect the refrigerator, push the
button (figure 5, 1) and the green operating
light will go off.
- For the FREEZER, push the button (figure
5, 5) and the green light operating will go
off.
If a compartment is to be off for a considerable
time you should EMPTY it, CLEAN it and LEAVE
THE DOOR OPEN to avoid ODOURS.
If
you
want
to
switch
COMPARMENTS we suggest that you UNPLUG
the appliance from the mains as an extra
precaution.

Changing the light bulb

If the INTERIOR LIGHT in the refrigerator
ceases to function, DISCONNET the stud at the
base of the plug and proceed with the following:
- Remove the case by pressing the back part
downwards/outside (fig 7, 1).
- Replace de BULB.
Take the FUSED BULB to the shop as your
SAMPLE for its replacement.
CHECK THAT THE BULB WATTAGE IS
NOT MORE THAN 15 W.
CHANGING THE OPENING DIRECTION
OF THE DOORS
The appliance you are preparing to install is
equipped with REVERSIBLE DOORS, meaning
that the opening direction can be changed.
(Fig. 8)
• Take off the strip (1) by removing the screws
(2) and then pulling it upwards.
• Unscrew the upper hinge (3) and remove
the upper compartment door (5).
• Unscrew the centre hinge (6) and remove
the lower compartment door (7).
• Remove the plastic plugs (8) (two pieces)
from the opposite side, and press them into
