Layout of the cold zones

Your FREEZER has as many as THREE COLD
ZONES and it is worth GETTING TO KNOW them
if you are to make BEST USE of your appliance :
- ZONE ONE (9 in figure 1) is the LEAST
COLD. This is a pull-out unit with three ICE-
CUBE TRAYS which you will use for making
and storing ice.
WARNING: WATER-ICES, if consumed
immediately after removal from the freezer,
can possibly result in low temperature skin
burns.
- ZONE TWO (10 in figure 1) has a system
for boosting its POTENCIAL FOR COLD.
This is the area you should use for
FREEZING food. You can also use it to
STORE frozen foods.
We call it the SUPER-FREEZER ZONE.
- ZONE THREE (11 in figure 1), in other
words the BOTTOM SHELVES, should be
used only for STORING FOOD ONCE IT IS
FROZEN.

Some thoughts on freezing

The major benefit of a HIGH-OUTPUT
freezer like the one in your COMBINED
appliance is that it opens the way to HOME-
FREEZING.
This very SIMPLE task brings undeniable
ADVANTAGES.
BIG SAVINGS.- Home-freezing allows you to
buy in season when produce is at its cheapest
or even to buy in bulk.
PRACTICAL.- You can freeze ready-cooked
or time-consuming dishes (such as croquettes)
then store them for serving whenever you want.
Anyone in the family can make up a complet
meal with ease as the occasion arises. You can
also serve FAVOURITE DISHES in or out of
SEASON.
MORE LEISURE TIME.- You can use the
freezer
QUANTITIES
MEALTIMES; you can cook complicated dishes
whenever you feel like it and store them in the
freezer.
SHOPPING becomes easier too because
you can cut it down to ONCE A MONTH.
Maximum freezing output
You may freeze a maximum of 16 kg. of
foodstuffs within a period of 24 hours, in
one go. Freezing should be preferably
accomplished in the upper compartment,
directly on the freezer grid.

Of course, you may also use the frozen food
bins to freeze fresh products. Notice, however,
that in this case you will need to slightly reduce
the quantity of food.
Observe that fresh products should not be
mixed with deep frozen food.
Note
The bottom frozen food bin should be used
exclusively for the storage of frozen food. If
possible, avoid using this bin to freeze fresh food.
If you need to freeze very large quantities of
food, you may find it convenient to remove the
frozen food bins (bottom bin may not be
removed) from the unit and to stack your
products directly on the freezing grids. To
remove bins, pull forwards until they catch, tilt
upwards and remove.
Observe that food should not project over
the border line, Figure 6/A, otherwise the air
circulation within the unit will be adversely
influenced.
The freezing capacity of your appliance is as

How to freeze food

The freezer part of your combined appliance
has a SUPER-FREEZE system to boost its
normal COLD POTENTIAL. Use it ONLY when
you plan to FREEZE. If a SIGNIFICANT
QUANTITY of food is to be frozen (more than 6
kg.) the SUPER-FREEZE button should be
employed (figure 5, 8) TWENTY FOUR
HOURS in advance. The outside edge of this
button shines amber as a visual reminder that
this FUNCTION is IN USE.
Once the FOOD is IN the freezer maintain
this setting for a further TWENTY-FOUR
HOURS. After 24 hours you can switch off
OF
Super-freeze and move the now frozen food to
a STORAGE shelf.
If you freeze less than 6 kg. at one time it is
sufficient to switch on SUPER-FREEZE when
you PUT THE FOOD IN and maintain for
TWENTY-FOUR hours.
Try whenever possible to keep the SUPER-
FREEZE compartment empty when you are
about to freeze food.
In any case, TAKE CARE TO AVOID
DIRECT CONTACT between UNFROZEN food
and food which is already FROZEN or the food
ALREADY FROZEN may be SPOILT.
