Connection manager

You may have multiple data connections active at the
same time when you are using your device in GSM and
UMTS networks. Press
mgr.. To view the status of data connections or end
connections in GSM and UMTS network and wireless LAN,
select
Act. data
conn.. To search for wireless LANs
available within range, select

Data connections

In the active connections view, you can see the open data
connections: data calls ( ), packet data connections (
or
), and wireless LAN connections (
Note: The actual time invoiced for calls by your
service provider may vary, depending on network
features, rounding off for billing, and so forth.
To end a connection, select
all open connections, select
To view the details of a connection, select
Details. The details shown depend on the connection type.

View data connection details

To view the details of a connection, scroll to a connection,
and select
Options
> Details.
Name—The name of the Internet access point (IAP) in use,
or the modem connection name if the connection is a
dial-up connection.
Bearer—The type of data connection:
speed
(GSM), or
Packet
data.
Status—The current status of the connection: Connecting,
Conn.
(inactive),
Conn.
(active),
or Disconnected.
Recvd.—The amount of data, in bytes, received to your
device.
Sent—The amount of data, in bytes, sent from your device.
Duration—The length of time that the connection has been
open.
Speed—The current speed of both sending and receiving
data in kilobytes per second.
Dial-up—The dial-up number used.
Shared
(not shown if the connection is not shared)—The
number of applications using the same connection.
