Registering and de-registering
handsets
To make calls with your handset you must "introduce"

it to its base station (registering). This registering is
done manually.
Handsets belonging to the Gigaset 2000/Gigaset 3000
families and other manufacturers' handsets register in
the same way.

Manual registration:

Gigaset 4000 handsets at the Gigaset
4010 base station
If a handset has already been registered at a different
base station, you must now register it at your base sta-
tion.
Step 1:

Open the menu.

Select the menu item and confirm.

Select the menu item and confirm.

Enter the system PIN and confirm (factory setting:
0000) – e.g.
Step 2:
Press the key on the rear of the base station for longer
than 1 second. The handset is automatically assigned
to the next available number. If all the numbers (1-6) are
already assigned, then number 6 is overwritten.
Once it has been successfully registered the handset
reverts to the idle status, the internal number is shown
on the display (e. g. „INT1").
It is possible to assign a different internal number (see
page 63) or a different internal name (see page 62) to a
handset later.
