What to do if ...
d Risk of electric shock!
Repairs may be carried out by customer
service or authorised technicians only.
If a repair is necessary or if you are unable
to eliminate a fault yourself with the aid of
the following table, proceed as follows:
Fault
Washing machine door
cannot be opened.

though the appliance
has been switched off
and on again.
Possible cause
No final spin" selected.
Childproof lock / appliance lock
activated.
Power failure.
Programme is running and/or
washing machine door is locked for
safety reasons.
Plug is loose or not plugged in.
Childproof lock / appliance lock is
active.
The washing machine door is locked
for safety reasons because the water
level, the temperature or the speed
is too high.
q Switching off the appliance.
q Disconnect the washing machine from
the power supply.
q Turn off the tap.
q Call customer service, see Page 51.
Remedial action
Select and start the Drain" or Spin"
programme.
Press the start/stop" button for
4 seconds.
Programme continues running when
the power has been restored. If the
washing is to be removed during the
power failure, proceed as described
under "Emergency lock release",
see Page 40.
Watt until programme ends.
Eliminate cause.
Press the start/stop" button for
4 seconds.
Proceed as described under
Cancelling the programme",
see Page 34.
If the washing was washed at high
temperatures, start the Rinse"
additional programme.
