Display

If the unit detects a problem, one or more of the following messages will appear on the display.

There is something wrong with the unit. Contact our service personnel.
The cover is open. Close it.
The document is not fed into the unit properly. Reinsert the document. If
misfeeding occurs frequently, clean the document feeder rollers and try again
(p. 126). If the problem remains, adjust the feeder pressure (p. 123).
The film cartridge is not installed properly. Reinsert it correctly (p. 124, 125).
The recording paper set lever is released. Push it back to set the lever (p. 29).
Memory (telephone numbers, parameters, etc.) has been erased. Re-program.
The recording paper is not installed or the unit has run out of paper. Install paper
and press START/SET/COPY
The recording paper is not fed into the unit properly or has jammed near the
recording paper entrance. Clear the jammed paper and press
to clear the message (see "When paper has jammed near the recording paper
entrance" on page 121).
Do not install folded or heavily curled paper in the paper tray.
There is no space to store new stations in the EASY DIAL directory. Edit or
erase unnecessary stations (p. 44).
The unit has a document in memory. See the other displayed message
instructions to print out the document.
Memory is full of received documents due to a lack of recording paper or a
recording paper jam, etc. Install paper or clear the jammed paper.
When performing memory transmission, the document being stored exceeds the
memory capacity of the unit. Transmit the entire document using manual or
automatic transmission.
The film is empty. Replace the film cartridge (p. 124, 125).
The film is slack. Tighten it (see step 9 on page 125) and install again.
The remaining film can print about 10 pages of A4 size documents. Prepare a
new film or film cartridge (p. 17).
The free starter film is empty. Replace the film or film cartridge (p. 124, 125).
There is something wrong with the modem circuit. Contact our service personnel.
The other party's fax machine is busy or has run out of recording paper. Try
again.
A recording paper jam occurred under the film cartridge. Clear the jammed
paper (p. 120).
