Chapter 1: Safety Instructions GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS • This product must be grounded. Grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This product is equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug.
Chapter 2: Elliptical Overview ™ TRUE Lock - Exercise Lock Feature The ES700 and ES900 ellipticals include the TRUE Lock. This feature allows users to immobilize the foot pedals. By locking the exercise machine, a user can create a more stable foot pedal when entering and exiting the machine.

Chapter 4: Programming & Operation Heart Rate Monitoring: This elliptical can monitor your heart rate using either the chest strap provided with the elliptical or the metal grips on the hand rails (called contact heart rate or CHR pads). A chest strap transmits your heart rate to the elliptical via radio, and the CHR pads connect to a special computer circuit to extract your heart rate.

Chapter 4: Programming & Operation A Note On Heart Rate Monitoring: The chest strap produces a FM signal that the treadmill reads and registers your heart rate. The accuracy of a reading may be affected when outside interference is present. Contact Heart Rate (chr): The CHR system lets you monitor your heart rate without wearing a strap.
