General Instructions for 230v Machines...

W H I T E
Do not work with cutting or boring tools of any description if you are
tired, your attention is wandering or you are being subjected to
distraction. A deep cut, a lost fingertip or worse, is not worth it!
Do not use this machine within the designated safety areas of
flammable liquid stores or in areas where there may be volatile gases. There are
very expensive, very specialised machines for working in these
areas, THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM.
Above all, OBSERVE.... make sure you know what is happening around you, and USE
YOUR COMMON SENSE.
IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU WEAR EAR PROTECTION IF YOU ARE
USING THIS MACHINE.

Specific Safety for the Powered Hacksaws...

1. Make sure that the blade is sharp, undamaged and of the correct type for the material
being processed.
2. Make sure that the material is clamped firmly in the vice jaws, any movement will result in
a blade fracturing, possibly producing shards of blade material.
3. Make sure that the blade is correctly tensioned, a loose blade will have a shortened life
and may break.
4. Make sure that long lengths of stock are adequately supported, the machine vice jaws
are not designed for this purpose.
5. Check for damaged parts, any part that is damaged must be assessed to ensure that it
can carry out its function properly. If it cannot, it must be replaced before the machine is
used.
6. Never leave the machine running unattended. When you have finished your cutting
operations, turn the power supply off. Do not leave the machine until it has come to a
complete stop.
7. Be aware that the blade will become very hot during cutting, if you need to change the
blade during a cutting operation, allow the blade to cool before changing it.

Operation of the Powered Hacksaw...
This is a very simple machine to operate, there are no choices of speeds or down-feed
settings to select.
The arm has a supporting gas strut to take some of the weight of the arm and allow the arm
to descend in a controlled fashion.
When you raise the arm, there is a latching arm that will drop into place to support the arm
in the raised position. (See Fig A)
When you wish to begin cutting, lower the arm onto the material and press the ON (green)
button on the switch. (See Fig C)
DO NOT lean on the arm to increase the cutting rate.
Use the length stop assembly to create identical lengths of materials. (See Fig B)
The machine should switch off automatically when the cut is completed, if the machine does
not switch off, press the STOP (red) button manually. Disconnect the power supply and
adjust the stop actuator mounted on the lower part of the arm so that it pushes the stop
button down further.
