3 Cleaning the Scanner 3 Cleaning the Scanner When scanning mostly NCR™ type paper, Böwe Bell + Howell recommends cleaning the scanner at a minimum, every 1000 scans or once per week, whichever comes first. In the event the scanning of NCR™ type paper occurs at a greater rate or in larger quantities, it is highly recommended that the scanner be cleaned once per day.
