    Before You Start Thank you for purchasing the Cardimax 560 Recumbent! This quality product you have chosen was designed to meet your needs for cardiovascular exercise. Before you start, please read the Owner's Manual and become familiar with the operation of your new unit. Remember to take the time to perform the stretching exercises provided to avoid injury.

    Assembly INSTRUCTIONS FOR ASSEMBLY: Unpack the box in a clear area. Check to make sure all components are present and in good condition. Do not dispose of the packing material until the assembly is completed. Tools have been provided for you to use when assembling this product.

Axles of ped- als are branded “L” and “R.” The pedal marked “R” goes on the right hand side of the bike and the one marked “L” on the left hand side. Tighten the left pedal by turning counter-clock- wise and the right pedal by turn- ing clockwise.

Connect PICK UP WIRE and EXTENSION WIRE from FRAME to those in the CONSOLE TUBE. Carefully plug HAND PULSE WIRES, PICK UP WIRE and EXTENSION WIRE into back of CONSOLE.

    Console Overview Your CardioMax 560 is equipped with a programmable monitor to help you track your progress and motivate you to reach your fitness goals. CONSOLE BUTTONS: START/STOP: Used to start or stop your exercise session. RESET: Used to reset function values to 0. Also used to during exercise session to go back to main screen and restart selection, setting process.

    Console Overview CONSOLE FUNCTIONS: TIME: This will count up from 00:00 up to 99:50 if you do not enter a preset time. If you do enter a preset time the console will count down from the time you set to 0:00. Values range from 00:00 to 99:00.
  • Page 13 Console Overview HEART RATE PROGRAMS: Heart Rate programs will auto adjust the tension level during your exercise session. If your heart rate is under the programmed level the tension level will increase one level every thirty seconds until target heart rate is achieved.

    Monitoring Your Heart Rate Monitoring Your Heart Rate To obtain the greatest cardiovascular benefits from your exercise workout, it is important to work within your target heart rate zone. The American Heart Association (AHA) defines this target as 60%-75% percent of your maximum heart rate.

    Moving Instructions CAUTION! TO REDUCE THE POSSIBILITY OF INJURY WHILE LIFTING, BEND YOUR LEGS AND KEEP YOUR BACK STRAIGHT. AS YOU LEAN THE UNIT, LIFT USING YOUR LEGS, NOT YOUR BACK. First, kneel down and grasp the rear support tube with both hands as shown in Figure 1. Next, with a firm grasp on rear support tube stand up bringing the rear of the bike up in the air and tilt the unit until it rolls freely on the transport wheels.
