these fades is greatly facilitated
by using the variable shutter automatic control,
the RX-FADER (see page 45).
In order to enhance the artistic effect of a
sequence,
the professional cameraman sometimes uses double
exposures,
i.e.
the superimposing of two
different
scenes filmed on the same length of film.
To double expose the whole sequence:
1.
Set the lens diaphragm according to the lightmeter
reading.
2.
Half close the variable shutter by locking the lever in

Set the frame counter to
zero.
4.
Film the first scene.

close the variable shutter and lock the lever in

Disengage the motor and wind the film back until
the frame counter again reads
zero.

Engage the motor.

Freethe variable shutter lever and lock it in position

reaches the figure noted under point 5.
11. Open the variable shutter and lock its lever in that
