Emergency Calls
The emergency services can be contacted
in the UK by dialling 999, or 112
which is valid in any country that is a
member of the European Community.
If your Diverse base station is
connected to a switchboard, you may
have to dial an access number before
, to contact the emergency services.
999
Some switchboards can not dial out
during a power failure.
Replacing handset batteries
After a time, you may find that the
handset batteries are running out of
charge more quickly. This is a standard
sign of wear and the batteries will need
replacing.
Use only recommended rechargeable
batteries in the handset. Any other
types may cause irreparable damage.
See page 6 for list of those recommended.
Do not immerse batteries in water or
throw them into fire, or dispose of them
with ordinary domestic refuse.
To charge batteries, only use the plug-in
power supply station provided.
Use only approved nickel-cadmium
(NiCad) rechargeable batteries, or nickel-
metal hydride (NiMH) rechargeable
batteries. Never use other batteries or
conventional alkaline batteries. Using
such batteries could lead to a short circuit
or destroy the battery casing.
