06 Locks and alarm
Keyless* - interference to remote
control key function
Electromagnetic fields and screening can
interfere with the Keyless function.
NOTE
Do not place/store the remote control key
with keyless function near a mobile phone
or metal object - no closer than 10-15 cm.
If interference is experienced nonetheless,
use the remote control key (p. 159) and the
key blade like a traditional remote control key.

Keyless* - locking
Cars with the Keyless-drive system have a
touch-sensitive area on the outer handle of
the doors and a rubberised button next to the
tailgate's rubberised pressure plate.
Lock the doors and the tailgate by grasping
one of the door handles or pressing the
smaller of the tailgate's two rubberised but-
tons - the lock indicator (p. 161) in the wind-
screen confirms that locking has been com-
pleted by starting to flash.
All doors and the tailgate must be closed
before the car can be locked - otherwise the
car is not locked.
NOTE
In cars with automatic gearbox selectors,
the gear selector must be set to the P
position; otherwise the car can be neither
locked nor alarmed.
