– If you're using Secure Strategy Distribution (SSD), follow steps in form #1762,
the PAC Terminal SSD Technical Note, to create a download file with the file
extension .ssd.
– Otherwise, compile the strategy as a Control Engine Download file (.cdf ) by
right-clicking the name of the control engine in the Strategy Tree and choosing
Compile Control Engine Download File from the pop-up menu.
The file is created in the same folder as the strategy, with a .cdf extension and a
filename consisting of the strategy's name and the control engine's name (for
example, MyStrategy.MyEngine.cdf ).
d. Rename the .cdf or .ssd strategy file to fit the 8 dot 3 filename format for the
microSD card (see
IMPORTANT: You must retain the correct file extension (.cdf or .ssd).
4. Remove the microSD card from the controller and put it in a card reader attached to
the PC. Prepare the firmware file:
a. Locate the firmware file you want to upgrade to.
b. Rename the file to fit the 8 dot 3 filename format.
For this file, do not keep the same file extension. Recommended naming scheme:
