Setting Local TIME and DAY DAY and GMT change Setting crown in position each time hour hand used to adjust both hour and passes midnight minute hands (24:00 hours) DATE changes each time hour hand passes midnight (24:00 hours) Setting the DAY is accomplished by advancing the hour hand through 24hour cycles. Every time the hour hand passes midnight, the indicator will advance to the next DAY.
Setting DATE and GMT GMT (Greenwich Median Time) is an international time standard originally established to facilitate oceanic navigation and is based on the time in Greenwich, England from which the remaining 23 global time zones are derived. GMT is 5 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time (EST) and 4 hours ahead of Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) during Daylight Savings Time.
