Installation

Interface : Ethernet Interface
Use CAT5 twisted-pair with length of 100 meter. SC09FE features the function of Auto Negotiation &
MDI/MDI-X.
Interface : Fiber Interface
SC/ST fiber interface is of duplex mode type, including two interfaces, namely TX and RX. When the two sets
of optical converter are interfaced or connected to switch with fiber interface, the fiber is in cross connection,
namely "TX-RX", "RX-TX".

ST/SC : ST/SC Connector
A/D XXX : AC / DC. XXX : Specify Input voltage separately
A/I : AC External Adapter / Internal Supply

Connection

The network device (Hub or Switch) with RJ-45 interface is connected to RJ-45 port of SC09FE. And the
multi/single mode fiber is connected to SC/ST fiber interface. The LED's are as below : (See the table below
for the LED indicator lamp)

Explanation for LED indicators

LED Explanation
indicator Status
FX L On "ON" indicates that Fiber link is in correct connection
Blink "Blink" indicates data through Fx end
TX L On "ON" indicates that electrical link is in correct connection
Blink "Blink" indicates packet goes through Tx end
FDX On Converter works in the full duplex mode
Off Converter works in the half duplex mode
PWR On Power on
FX100 On Transfer rate of Fx is 100Mbps
TX On Transfer rate of electrical interface is 100Mbps
10/100 Off Transfer rate of electric interface is 10Mbps
