Safety Information

Please take these safety precautions into consideration under the following conditions:
1. Servicing the vehicle
When servicing your autom obi le (i.e. changing the oil, washing your car), the
CompuStar system should be in Valet Mode. There is a safety shutdown sw i t ch under
the hood that deactivates the remote starter function if the hood is open.
However , if the switch has been damaged or the switch has been installed i m properl y ,
the vehicl e may start when Button II is pressed f or 2 seconds, even if the hood is open.
2. Loaning your vehicle to others
Whenever you loan your vehicle to an individual who is not fami l iar wi t h C ompustar,
you may want to put the vehicle in Valet mode. This will prevent the borrower from
accidental ly acti vating the CompuStar auto-security system.
3. For manual transmission vehicles
If the Compustar 2WAM R is installed in a manual transmission vehicl e , extra
precautions are r equired because the Compustar does not monitor the gear shift :
I m p o r t a n t !
Under normal cir cumstances, Reser vation M ode is cancel led
when a door or hatchback opens. Please verify that the openi ng of any door or
hatchback cancels Reser vation Mode. If any of the door s or hatchback are not
monitored by CompuStar because of improper instal lation or a faulty dome light switch,
do not use the CompuStar and take your vehicle i mmediately to the dealer for repair .
Do not set Reservation Mode if the window (s) are open or if there is any one inside the
vehi cle, this i n cludes animals. Remote star t installation in a manual transmi ssi on vehi c le
with a convertible top is not recom mended.
