Change disc player settings
CAUTION: Most of the settings are already
configured with the best value for the disc
player. Unless you have a specific reason to
change a setting, it is best to leave it at the
default value.
1. While you watch a DVD, press
to access the DVD settings menu.
2. Use the Navigation buttons to navigate
the menu and OK to confirm your selection.

You cannot change a setting that is
greyed out.
If you select a setting that is not
available on the disc, the default setting
is used.
General settings
1. While you watch a DVD, press
and then select [General].
2. Select a setting to change, then press OK:
[TV display]: Select a picture display
format to fit the TV screen (only
available when the disc is not playing).
[4:3 Panascan]: For a TV with
aspect ratio of 4:3. Full-height display
with trimmed sides.
[4:3 Letter Box]: For a TV with
aspect ratio of 4:3. Wide-screen display
with black bars on the top and bottom
of the screen.
[16:9]: For wide-screen TV. The
aspect ratio is 16:9.
[Menu language]: Select the on-screen
display menu language. The number of
menu languages available on the disc
player may be different from that on
the TV.
[Screen saver]: Enable screen saver
mode. If enabled, the screen enters idle
mode after 5 minutes of inactivity (for
example, in pause or stop mode).
[Disc lock]: Select [On] to lock the disc
in the disc compartment. If locked, you
need to enter the password to access
the disc every time you play the locked
disc. If you forget your password, enter
'8888' to reset.

Audio settings
1. While you watch a DVD, press
and then select [Audio].

2. Select [SPDIF setup], then press OK.
3. Select a setting to adjust, then press OK:

Preference settings
Note: You need to stop DVD playback
before you can access the preference
settings.
1. In DVD mode, press
select [Preference].
2. Select a setting to change, then press OK:
[Last memory]: Enable last memory
option. If enabled, the player
automatically resumes play from the last
stop point.
[SPDIF output]: Set the type of digital
audio output to disc player and other
digital audio systems.
[BITSTREAM]: Output original or
raw digital audio.
[PCM]: Output raw audio that is
converted to PCM.
[LPCM Out]: Select the audio sampling
rate. The higher the sampling rate, the
better the sound quality.
[VCD PBC]: Display or skip the
content menu for VCD and SVCD
discs.
[Audio]: Select audio language for disc.
[Subtitle]: Select subtitle language for
disc.
[Disc menu]: Select language for disc
menu.
[Parental]: Restrict access to discs that
are recorded with parental ratings. To
play all discs irrespective of the rating,
select level '8'.
[Password setup]: Set or change the
PIN code to play a restricted disc.
[Password mode]: Enable
password settings.
[Password]: Set or change the
password for locked discs and
restricted disc playback. Enter '8888' to
reset the password.
[Default]: Reset the disc player to the
default factory settings.
