eMTA Installation for Telephone Service
The following procedures explain how to set up and configure your eMTA if you plan
to use telephone service.
1. Either a telephone, fax machine, or analog modem can be connected to
the RJ-11 port on the eMTA.
2. Insert the AC power adapter cord into the power connector on the back
of the eMTA, and then plug the power adapter into an AC power source.
3. Connect the active RF coaxial cable to the CABLE connector on the
back of the eMTA.
4. Once connected, the eMTA begins an automatic search which may take
5 minutes to locate and sign on to the network that provides the
telephone service.
5. Verify that there is a dial tone and incoming / outgoing calls are possible.
