Chapter 1 Unpacking and Setup Before You Begin Set up of the printer must be complete before you begin to set up the scanner. Selecting a Location The scanner can be located on top of the printer, or on a flat, stable surface near the printer. -

Installation Instructions Perform the following steps to install the scanner: 1. Place the scanner on top of the printer (or other designated location near the printer). Attaching the Cables and Power Cord to the Scanner Attach the cables to the scanner as follows: 1. -

Attaching the Shroud A shroud is attached to the scanner to protect the cables from coming loose and to provide a clean, finished appearance to the unit. To attach the shroud: 1. Unscrew the thumbscrews from the I/O plate and set them aside for later use. - Page 13 3. The power cord and the printer cable will be routed through an opening in the side of the shroud as it is installed. To ensure the printer cable stays connected, use the tie wrap to fasten the cable to the left standoff.
