Charging Your zūmo Charge your zūmo for at least 4 hours before using on battery power. • Use the automotive power cable. • Use the USB cable. • Use an optional AC adapter cable. • Use an optional battery charger. Mounting Your zūmo in an Automobile 1.
Incorrectly wiring the power cable with bare wire leads can result in damage to the vehicle or the battery and can cause bodily injury. Garmin strongly recommends having an experienced installer with the proper knowledge of electrical systems install the unit.
Installing the Handlebar Base The zūmo includes parts for two handlebar installation solutions. Custom mounts can require additional hardware (www.ram-mount.com). Installing the U-bolt and handlebar base: 1. Place the U‑bolt around the handlebar, and thread the ends through the handlebar base. 2.
Washers Panhead screws Attaching the Base Plate to the zūmo Mount 1. Thread the M4 × 40 mm panhead screws through the washers, the cradle, the spacers, and base plate. 2. Tighten the nuts to secure the base plate. Attaching the Base Plate to the Handlebar Base 1.
Installing Your zūmo in the Mount 1. Fit the bottom of your zūmo into the cradle. 2. Tilt the zūmo back until it snaps into place. Release lever Cradle Removing Your zūmo from Either Mount 1. Press the release lever on the top of the mount to release the zūmo.
Pairing your Bluetooth Headset You can listen to zūmo audio with your Bluetooth headset. The first time you use two devices together, you must “pair” them. Your Bluetooth headset and the zūmo must be turned on and be within 10 meters of each other. After the initial pairing, the two devices can connect automatically each time you turn them 1.

Resetting Your zūmo If your zūmo stops functioning, reset your zūmo by pressing and holding the Power button.

Changing Your Home Location To change your home location, you must first delete it from Favorites. 1. Touch Where To? > Favorites. 2. Select your home. 3. Touch Home > Edit > After you delete your home location, reset it by following the steps on page Finding a Place by Spelling the name...

Finding a Place Using the Touch Where To? > Browse Tips for Browsing the Map • Touch the map, and drag to view different parts of the map. • Touch to zoom out and in. • Touch any object on the map. An arrow appears pointing at the object.
Using the Main Pages Your route is marked with a magenta line. As you travel, your zūmo guides you to your destination with voice prompts, arrows on the map, and directions at the top of the map. A checkered flag marks your destination. If you deviate from the original route, your zūmo recalculates the route and provides new directions.
Trip Computer The trip computer displays your current speed and provides helpful statistics about your trip. To view the trip computer, touch on the map. If you make frequent stops, leave the zūmo turned on so it can accurately measure elapsed time during the trip.

1. Browse your computer for the file you want to copy. 2. Select the file, and touch Copy. 3. Open the “Garmin” or microSD card drive/volume. 4. Click Edit > Paste. The file appears in the list of files in the zūmo memory or on the microSD card.

Customizing the zūmo 1. Touch Tools > Settings. 2. Touch the setting you want to change. 3. Touch the button beside the setting name to change it. NOTE: Some menus and settings change based on your usage mode. Look for a usage mode icon next to the setting.
• Shorter Distance—to calculate routes that are shorter in distance but can take more time to drive. • Off Road—to calculate point-to-point routes without roads. Avoidances—select the road types or conditions you want to avoid on your routes. Recalculation—select whether your zūmo recalculates when you deviate from your route.
Enabling Fuel Tracking When connected to the motorcycle mount, your zūmo can alert you when your fuel tank is low. Touch Tools > Settings > Fuel Tracking—touch On. A fuel gauge appears under the compass on the map. Distance Per Tank—enter the total distance your motorcycle can travel on a tank of fuel.

Caring for Your zūmo Your zūmo contains sensitive electronic components that can be permanently damaged if exposed to excessive shock or vibration.

Replacing the Battery in the zūmo If you need to replace the battery in the zūmo, use a Garmin lithium‑ion battery 010-11143-00. Purchase a replacement battery at http://buy.garmin.com. Contact your local waste disposal department for information about properly disposing of the battery.
Changing the Fuse Notice When replacing the fuse, do not lose any of the small pieces and make sure they are put back in the proper position. The vehicle power cable does not work unless it is assembled correctly. If your unit will not charge in your vehicle, you might need to replace the fuse located at the tip of the vehicle adapter.
Additional Maps You can purchase additional MapSource map data from Garmin and load the maps in your zūmo internal memory or on an optional microSD card. To determine the versions of the maps that are loaded on your zūmo, open the Tools Menu page.
POI databases are available from various companies on the Internet. Some custom databases contain alert information for points, such as safety cameras and school zones. Go to www.garmin.com/extras, and POI Loader click to install the POI Loader onto your computer. For more information, refer to the POI Loader Help file.
