- Page 12 OPTION 3: EXTERNAL VERTICAL PUMP INSTALLING THE EXTERNAL PUMP Step 1: To install Dehumidifier Drain Hose, refer to Gravity Drain Using Dehumidifier Hose instructions starting on page 9. Step 2: For optimal operation, it is recommended that the pump is placed on a flat and level location, Attach the water pump to a wall or other perpendicular flat sur- face with the included screws for security.
