Universal Send
■
Universal Send can capture originals and distribute them to one or multiple destinations
simultaneously in various file formats. Destinations can be e-mail addresses, Internet fax or fax
numbers, file servers, and shared network folders. You can send electronically transformed
paper documents in a single operation. Simple and yet sophisticated document workflows can
be possible in mixed communication environments.

Send Options – Supporting a Variety of PDF File Types
■
The imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series supports TIFF, JPEG, PDF, XPS, and Office Open XML file
formats. When you choose PDF, they can specify the following PDF file types:
− High Compression (standard), which sends a PDF file in 1/10 size of the original files to make
network transfer of e-mail attachment files easier.
− Trace & Smooth* , which converts text or graphics of a scanned image into scalable outline data.

− Searchable* , which converts a scanned image to searchable text data.

− Encrypted* , which encrypts a PDF file with a password, to prevent potential information leaks.

− Add Digital Signatures* , which adds a digital signature to a PDF file to maximize and ensure information

privacy and security.
You can send a multiple-page file and give each page a unique file name.

The imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series supports W-NET FAX compliant with
the TTC standards (JT-T37 full mode) and is capable of full-color fax
transactions at a resolution of 600 dpi.
ScanToOffice Pro
■
ScanToOffice Pro automatically converts scanned paper documents to various types of file
formats including Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint, text, and PDF. Once documents have been
scanned, ScanToOffice Pro's powerful built-in OCR engine can detect text, images, colors,
backgrounds, and page layout automatically, to quickly and accurately convert paper documents
for active reuse.

Document Navigator lets you easily navigate through a list of destinations in directories of
folders on your PC. You can name or search document file names easily and efficiently.
You can make your selections with one-key operation. The overall process can be simplified and

Promote Secure and Efficient Fax Transactions
The Fax Basic Features Screen provides a simple user interface for you to scan
documents and send them to specified destinations via fax. You only need to set a
document on the platen glass or in the feeder, specify a destination and required settings,
and then press the Start key, in the same way that you send a fax from a fax machine.
Super G3 Fax – High-Speed Fax Transactions
■
The imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series provides robust fax capabilities, delivering a maximum transaction
speed of 33.6 kbps, which translates into approx. 2.6 seconds per transaction. It is capable of
electronically refining received fax data for a higher level of image quality on output, independent of the
settings specified by the sender.
* The optional Super G3 Fax Board-AD1 is required.
Useful Features – For Sending and Receiving Faxes

The imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series is capable of detecting the page orientation so your documents are
automatically rotated, if necessary, before they are sent or received. You do not need to stay near the
device once your documents have been scanned if you set all the pages to be scanned first, read into
memory, and then sent. Plus, you can choose to get the sender name as well as destination information
printed as the fax header at the top of each faxed page.
You can also choose to print a received fax document on both sides of paper to reduce paper transmittal
expenses.
Security Control – For Preventing Faxes

from Being Inadvertently Sent to Incorrect Destinations
To prevent fax documents from being sent to incorrect
destinations, the Confirm Entered Fax Number feature
displays a confirmation screen when enabled. The
screen requires users to re-enter a manually entered
fax number a second time. The Address Book
Destination Restriction feature can restrict users from
adding new destinations to the Address Book, and they
are limited to select destinations registered in the
Address Book. Additionally, the imageRUNNER
ADVANCE Series is compliant with the FASEC1
security guidelines for business use of security
features.
Paperless Fax
■
The imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series provides the
fax driver option so you can create a document
using desktop applications and send it as a clear
fax document directly from your PC over the
network, using the fax driver installed on your PC.
You can add a cover sheet created with Cover
Sheet Editor. The Confirm Entered Fax Number
feature is supported also for the fax driver.
Forwarding Received Fax Documents
■
The imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series can forward received fax/I-fax documents to specified forwarding
destinations. Destinations can be fax numbers, e-mail addresses, shared network folders, Advanced Box,
and C-Cabinet. You can receive important documents in real time.
Combined Use with Mail Box/Advanced Box
■
You can securely store fax/I-fax documents in Mail Box/Advanced Box folders upon receipt, or when you
want to save failed forwarding documents. By disallowing printing these documents outside normal
business hours, you can safeguard your data.
