8.3 Diagnostic Test

Regulations require that the DSC section be checked daily for proper
operation.
How to start the diagnostic tests
Select a channel not in use and press and hold down the PTT switch
of the handset for more than one second before starting the test.
Watch VHF CH70

Press the [3 (TEST)] key.

VHF DSC: GOOD
Distress alarm sounds and red LED near the [ALARM STOP] key lights.
Press [ALARM STOP] to silence the aural alarm.
For "NG" (No Good), press the [ENT] key to find reason for NG.

Appears during testing
End diagnostic test
If the PTT switch was not pressed
before diagnostic test, "NO TX
CHECK" is displayed.
For "GOOD" (no error), press
[CANCEL] key to return to the
standby display.
