- Battery pack is exhausted. Replaceor charge the battery pack.

- The camcorder cannot communicatewith the battery pack attached so the remaining battery
charge cannot be displayed.

- A memorycard erroroccurred. Turn off the camcorder. Removeand reinsert the memory
card. Initialize the memory card if the display does not change backto normal.
- The memorycard is full. Replacethe memorycard or delete some recordings (_ 56, 58)to
free some space on the memorycard.
Evenafter stopping recording, the ACCESSindicator does not go off.
- The scene is being recorded in the memory. This is not a malfunction.
The red ON/OFF(CHG)indicater flashes rapidly (_ one flash at O.5-second
intervals).
- The temperature of the battery pack is outside its operating range (approximately 0 - 40 °C
(32 - 104 °F)). Removethe battery pack, warm it or let it cool down, as necessary, and try
charging it again.
- Chargethe battery pack in temperatures betweenapproximately 0 °C and 40 °C (32 °F and
104 °F).
- The battery pack is damaged. Usea different battery pack.
- Charging has stopped becausethe compact power adapter or the battery pack is faulty. Con-
sult a CanonService Center.
Pictureand Sound
A rattling can be heard from the camcorder.
- If it cannot be heard during camera mode,then the rattling is due to the movement of the
internal lens fixture. This is not a malfunction.
Thescreen appears too dark.
- The LCDscreenwas dimmed. Changethe _[ e) _ e) [LCDBacklight] setting to
[Normal] or [Bright].
Screen displays turn on and off repeatedly.
- The battery pack is exhausted. Replaceor charge the battery pack.
- Remove the battery packand reattach it correctly.
