12.2 Hard Disk Drive Carriers

The M915 supports the Dell eleventh-generation 2.5‖ hard drive carrier (see Figure 6). Legacy
carriers are not supported on the M915.

12.3 Empty Drive Bays

For the slots that are not occupied by drives, a carrier blank is provided to maintain proper cooling,
maintain a uniform appearance to the unit, and provide EMI shielding.

12.4 Diskless Configuration Support

The system supports diskless configuration with no storage controller (PERC H200 or PERC H700)
installed in the system. A 2.5‖ HDD backplane is still installed in this configuration.
