Open the battery/memory
card cover (p. 12), and insert
the memory card with the
nothched edge in the direction
as illustrated until it clicks.
Note the direction of notched corner.
If the [Preparing image database file.
Please wait.] screen is displayed, wait
until the screen disappears.

Close the battery/memory card
cover (p. 12).

Notes
If [Failed to create a new Image Database File.

It may be possible that there is not enough free
space.] is displayed, format the memory card
(p. 58).
Confirm the direction of the memory card.

If you forcibly insert the memory card in the
wrong direction, the memory card, memory
card slot, and/or image data may be damaged.
Do not open the battery/memory card cover

during recording.
When inserting or ejecting the memory card, be

careful so that the memory card does not pop
out and drop.
Access lamp
Do not eject the memory card while the access

lamp is lit. Doing so may cause movies and/or
photos to not be saved on the memory card
properly.
To eject the memory card
Open the battery/memory card cover and
lightly push the memory card in once.
