Section 9: Messages

This section describes how to send and receive different types of messages. It also explains the features and
functionality associated with messaging.

Types of Messages

Your phone provides the following message types:

Text Messages

Picture Messages
Voicemail
The Message icon (
message icon flashes on your phone and you cannot receive any new messages. You must delete messages before
you can receive additional messages.
Text Messages
Short Message Service (SMS) allows you to send and receive short text messages to and from other mobile phones.
In addition, your phone supports the Enhanced Messaging Service (EMS), which enables you to include simple
graphics, melodies, and animated images in your messages. To use this feature, you must subscribe to your service
provider's message service.
Create and send a text message
From Idle mode, press Menu and select Messages

Enter a phone number, or press

Highlight the text field and create your message.

While entering your message, you can press Options to access the following options:
