Inserting and Accessing a Card (PC)
With a PC compatible computer running Windows (98SE, 2000, Me, or XP), two "Removable
Disk" icons with newly assigned driver letters (see illustration below) will appear in "My
Computer". In general, the first "Removable Disk" icon will be assigned to the upper or
CompactFlash slot. The second "Removable Disk" icon will be assigned to the lower or
SmartMedia, Secure Digital, MultiMediaCard, and Memory Stick slot. This lower slot is
designed to accept any of the four supported media types listed above. Only one of the four
supported media types may be inserted at one time.
To access your digital media, double-click on the media's respective "Removable Disk" icon. If
media is not inserted while double-clicking the icon, the message "Device not ready" or "Please
insert a disk" will appear. Insert a card and try accessing the media again. Once you have
opened the drive, the contents of the media card will be displayed. This is how you will access
your images or data stored on your media.
NOTE: Digital cameras will usually create a folder on the digital media card, which contains your
digital images. To access the digital images, you must first open the folder(s) and double-click
on the icon(s) representing the digital image(s) you wish to view.
IMPORTANT: The lower media slot of the Dazzle 6 in 1 Reader is designed to accept one of
four supported media types at one given time. In the course of usage, you may insert either
SmartMedia, Secure Digital, MultiMediaCard, or Memory Stick media into the lower slot of the
Dazzle 6 In 1 Reader at any one time. However, it is possible to use both the CompactFlash slot
and one of the four media types supported for use in the lower media slot concurrently.
