8 Network Tab
Note
• Use only IP parameters that have been specified or approved by your
network administrator.
• The Network Interface Card does not send DHCP requests when
DHCP is disabled. If there is no IP address assigned to the Network
Interface Card or if IP Address in NVRAM is turned off, the
Network Interface Card sends a BOOTP request.
• A DHCP request is sent when the Network Interface Card is reset or
powered up (while DHCP is enabled and no IP address assigned to the
Network Interface Card or if IP Address in NVRAM is turned off). If
an IP address cannot be obtained from the DHPC server, BOOTP and
RARP are used to obtain an IP address.
• When DHCP is enabled, an IP address is assigned to the Network
Interface Card, and IP Address in NVRAM is turned on, the
Network Interface Card uses the IP address stored in NVRAM. In this
case, the Network Interface Card does not send a DHCP request.
