Sending a message (E-mail) request to Concierge
If you are a VERTU Club member, you can send a message request to Vertu
Concierge using the E-mail service. Make sure that you have inserted the
VERTU Club SIM card in your Vertu phone before sending any request.
Message requests can be accepted only when the sender's domain is
specific to the "vertuclub.ne.jp" domain. Or, for any urgent request, we
recommend you give a ring to Concierge (not relying solely on E-mail), as
there might be a possible delay in message delivery due to some network
problems.
1. Open the fold and press the [End] key (page 18) until the Home screen
appears.
2. Press the dedicated [Concierge] key (
keypad to see the Concierge menu on the inner display.
You can also select Menu » VERTU Club » Concierge from the Home
>
screen to launch the same Concierge menu screen.
3. Select E-mail (left [Selection] key).
An E-mail editor screen appears with the necessary e-mail address already in
>
the To: filed.
4. Enter the message of your request in the text field.
5. Press the [Send] key (page 18) or select Options » Send to send the
request message.
Note: To send the request message to Concierge, you need to insert
the VERTU Club SIM card in your Vertu phone and must have network
coverage.

Sending / receiving messages while abroad
You can use the E-mail and Text message services also while abroad, just
as you would while in Japan. For example, if you use your Vertu phone in
countries outside Japan with the VERTU Club SIM card in, you can send an
E-mail using your current e-mail address (an address with the premium
"vertuclub.ne.jp" domain) just in the same manner as described in "Sending
an E-mail" (page 38).
However, sending / receiving E-mails or Text messages abroad may incur
additional expensive roaming fees, depending on the volume of data
transmitted. Contact your service provider for further information on the
charges that may apply while abroad.
The following configuration changes can be used to restrict data transmission
cost while roaming.
1. Open the fold and press the [End] key until the Home screen appears.
2. Select Menu » Messages » Message Settings » E-mails » E-mail
reception.
3. Select Auto. in home nw. or Manual as necessary.
Automatic: Allows your Vertu phone to automatically download all messages
>
every time and as soon as they arrive at the message centre, regardless of
whether you are in Japan or abroad.
Auto. in home nw. : Allows your Vertu phone to automatically download all
>
messages when you are in your home network (which would be Japan if you
are using a VERTU Club SIM card), and, when you are in a network outside
Japan, allows you to download messages manually. When an E-mail arrives
at the message centre while you are in a roaming network, you will see a
notification on your Vertu phone. If you accept the notification (by selecting
Receive on the notification screen), the message will then be downloaded to
the phone.
Manual: Allows you to manually download all messages in whichever case
>
you are currently in your home network or in a roaming network.
Off: Message reception is switched off regardless of location.
>
An envelope icon on the display will start evolving when your Vertu phone
starts downloading a message from the network. The animation will then
continue untill the download is complete.
