Before Your First Use:

1. Read all instructions and important safeguards before using this appliance.
2. Remove all packaging materials and make sure the rice cooker and the accessories
are received in good condition.
3. Tear up all plastic bags as they can pose a risk to children.
4. Wash all accessories in warm soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
5. Remove the inner pot from the rice cooker and clean with warm soapy water. Rinse
and dry thoroughly before returning to the cooker.
6. Wipe the body of the rice cooker clean with a damp cloth.
Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads to clean this appliance.
Do not immerse the rice cooker base, cord or plug in water at any time.
To Cook Rice:
1. Using the measuring cup provided, measure and add rice to the pot. One full level
cup equals one cup.
2. Rinse the rice in a separate container with water until the water becomes relatively clear.
3. Place the rice into the inner pot. Using the water measurement lines in the inner pot
or the provided measuring cup, add the appropriate amount of water to the inner pot.
A rice/water measurement chart has been included on page 6.
4. To make softer rice, allow the rice to soak for 10-20 minutes before cooking.
5. Place the lid back on the rice cooker and plug the power cord into the electric outlet.
6. To start cooking, press the power switch down. The cook indicator light will then illu-
minate. Once cooking has completed, the rice cooker will automatically switch to
keep warm mode and the warm indicator light will illuminate.
7. After the rice cooker has switched to warm mode, let the rice stand for 5-10 minutes in the
inner pot without removing the lid. This ensures that the rice will be thoroughly cooked.
8. When you are finished cooking with the rice cooker, unplug it from the electrical outlet and
allow it to cool.
CAUTION:
• Do not remove the lid during cooking. Hot steam will escape and may cause burns.
• If the outside of the inner pot is wet when it is returned to cooker, it may damage this
product and cause it to malfunction.
