with E. If there are no titles with E, the first group displayed are those starting with a letter greater
than E (F, G, H, ..., Z). If still no titles are found, then the last group of titles in the list are displayed
regardless of where they fit alphabetically.
Once a selection is made the keypad transitions to the CD List page (FIG. 42).

Keypad Interface - CD List

The CD List page (FIG. 42) displays a listing of CD titles. There are several factors involved in
displaying the list of titles and allowing you to scroll through them. First, the keypad is limited in
how many titles can be displayed. Second, since each title has to be downloaded to the keypad, the
amount of time to download titles must be considered. Too many titles and you will wait for long
periods of time. Too few titles and you will constantly scroll, wait, scroll, wait, etc.
The approach taken here is that 17 titles are downloaded to the keypad. This provides very quick
feedback to you. Since the DMS has all 17 titles in memory, scrolling is very fast. With 6 titles per
keypad page, this provides enough titles to fill 3 keypad screens with the last line available for a
"page down" type function. This function is labeled NEXT on the keypad. Pressing this button
downloads the next group of 17 titles to the keypad.

Interface with the keypad by pressing the UP/DOWN arrow buttons to scroll through the list of 17
titles.
To select a title, press the selection button next to the title. That CD loads and starts playing. The
selection only affects the audio zone in which the keypad resides. After the selection is made, you
are automatically returned to the CD Control page.
