Problem solving guide

With the help of the following notes, minor faults in the performance of the
machine, some of which may result from incorrect operation, can be put right
without contacting the Service Department.

Repair work to electrical appliances should only be carried out by a
suitably qualified person in strict accordance with current local and national
safety regulations. Repairs and other work by unqualified persons could be
dangerous. The manufacturer cannot be held liable for unauthorised work.
Problem
The ironer will not
operate.
Laundry does not pass
smoothly through the
roller.

Folds have formed in
the ironer cover.
The ironer cover is
very dirty.
The heater plate has
no contact pressure.
There is no steam.
The Q "Steam"
indicator light goes
out during ironing.

Possible cause
There is no power to
the appliance.
The ironing cover is
dirty.
There are calcium
deposits (from hard
water) or starch
residues on the
heater plate.
The heater plate is
dirty (calcium
deposits).
Starch deposits etc. Wash the cover at 60°C.
The emergency
release catch has
been pulled up.
The required
temperature for
steam has not been
reached.
Remedy
Check whether
- the mains plug is plugged in
and switched on.
- the fuse or circuit breaker has
tripped.
Wash the cover at 60°C.
Remove these with household
washing-up liquid or a suitable
proprietary cleaning agent.
Clean the heater plate with
household washing-up liquid or
a suitable proprietary cleaning
agent.
Push the emergency release
catch down (see also "Power
cut").
Turn the temperature selector to
ßßß and wait until the indicator
light comes on.
