Loading Paper Before Loading Paper Set the paper in the cassette with the side which faced the top of its packaging facing NOTE: Please set paper according to the instruction when paper side is directed. When you open a new package of paper, fan through the sheets to separate them slightly prior to loading.
Loading Paper Adjust the position of the width guides located on the left and right sides of the paper cassette. Press the release button on the left guide and slide the guides to the paper size required. NOTE: The paper sizes are marked on the cassette.

Loading Paper Pull out the cassette to access the Manual Feed Tray. Pull the Manual Feed Tray up and out. Pull out the front of the Manual Feed Tray. Push the cassette back into the printer. Adjust the paper width guides and slide the paper into the tray as far as it will go.
Loading Paper Envelopes should be fed in the face-up position, right edge first. NOTE: Prior to purchasing envelopes, print a sample to check quality. 3 Preparations Connecting the Cables The machine can be connected to a computer. Connecting the USB Cable To connect the machine directly to your computer, use the USB cable. Turn the machine off, remove the power cord from the outlet and turn the computer off.

4 Copy Functions Basic Copying Procedure To change the default settings for the machine, refer to System Settings. Turn the machine on. At the end of warm-up, the ready screen will be displayed. Select from the copier’s various functions. Press [Copy Mode] to select the desired mode.
Copy Functions Enter the number of copies required. Up to 99 can be entered. Open the original cover and place the original face down onto the platen against the left rear corner of the platen. Close the original cover. Press [Start]. Copying begins immediately. To cancel copying, press [Stop/Clear].

Copy Functions Originals to Avoid Be sure not to use the following originals in the document processor. • Originals with punched holes or perforations. • Transparencies. • Soft originals such as carbon or vinyl paper, or other originals that are curled, wrinkled or creased.

5 Scanning Functions This product allows you to operate the scanner from within a TWAIN or plug-in software application. As the scanner driver is not a stand-alone software, it has to be started from within a TWAIN-compliant software application and then the scanner driver is able to scan and load the image to your computer.

7 Using QLINK The QLINK is a software utility that allows you to quite easily, with very few mouse clicks, access the most frequently used scanning applications. Using the QLINK eliminates the need to manually launch the specific applications and allows you to scan a document directly to a folder on your computer.

Using QLINK Scan Function Section Send to email Send to email enables you to scan a page or document directly into the E-mail application, Outlook Express, as a standard attachment. Preparing to FAX Configuring TTI Settings TTI (Transmit Terminal Identifier) information identifies the time of transmission, number of pages, and your station name and FAX number. It can be sent automatically to the other party’s FAX to be printed on the faxed document. This machine lets you choose whether to send TTI information.

Since the facsimile dials for a specified number of times at predetermined intervals, this function is useful even when the other party's line is busy for extended periods.

Basic Functions Broadcast Transmission Broadcast Transmission lets you fax the same document to multiple destinations in a single operation. Your facsimile temporarily stores the documents to be faxed in memory, then automatically dials the FAX numbers and transmits a copy to each destination.

Basic Functions Auto FAX/Tel Switching This mode is convenient if you use a single telephone line for calling and FAX. FAXes are received automatically. Otherwise, the facsimile rings for telephone calls. IMPORTANT: To answer calls, you must connect an external phone (not included) to your facsimile.
Basic Functions DRD Reception (Inch Model Only) This reception mode uses the Distinctive Ring Pattern service available from some telephone companies. With this service, you can use two or more telephone numbers on a single telephone line. Each number is given a different ring pattern so that the facsimile can differentiate between incoming calls.
Basic Functions Polling Reception With polling, FAX transmissions are initiated by the recipient, not the sending party. The recipient can receive the FAX at him/her convenience. Polling reception only is available for your facsimile. You cannot use the polling transmission. NOTE: Only one party can be specified for the polling reception.
Basic Functions Memory Forwarding The facsimile stores received document into memory, and then forwards it to the registered destination. Following configuration is required for the memory forwarding. Item Value Description Forward FAX number Enters the FAX number of forwarding Number destination.
Basic Functions Fax Reject Setting The facsimile can reject fax sent from specified party. Max. 20 parties can be registered for reject function. The reject function checks the FAX number registered in the other party's facsimile, and if the number matches to the registered reject number, suspends reception.This function doesn't work if the other party does not register the FAX number, or registers another number.
Basic Functions Reject No Registration Setting (Reject in case FAX number is not registered) Press to display Reject Blank ID, and press [OK]. Press to select On or Off, and press [OK].
