Welcome

Welcome to ExtremeZ, a member of Intergraph Computer Systems' TDZ 2000 workstation family!
Your ExtremeZ workstation is a Pentium II-based system configured for the publishing and prepress
environment.
Your ExtremeZ system was delivered with the Microsoft Windows NT Workstation operating system
and associated system software. The system was also delivered with the Connectivity Plus bundled
software. For more information about the Connectivity Plus software, refer to the Connectivity Plus
document. The system may also have been delivered with pre-installed application software bundles
for graphics designers. For more information about the graphics designer software bundles, refer to the
Graphics Design Software Bundles document.
This document provides a quick reference if you need to obtain customer support or reinstall the
Windows NT Workstation operating system.

Where to Start

Before you can begin using your ExtremeZ workstation, there are a few easy steps you must complete.
First, follow the brief instructions in the ExtremeZ Customer Welcome Letter. Use this Quick-
Reference if you need to contact customer support, or if you need to reinstall the Windows NT
Workstation operating system.
Along with the Welcome Letter and the Quick-Reference, you should refer to these documents
delivered with the system:

Connectivity Plus, delivered with the Connectivity Plus software bundle, provides a brief
description of the software in the Connectivity Plus bundle, and provides instructions for
reinstalling the software.

Graphics Design Software Bundles, delivered with the graphics design software bundles, provides
a brief description of the software in the graphics design bundles, and provides instructions for
reinstalling the software.
u
TDZ 2000 System Setup provides detailed instructions for unpacking, setting up, and configuring
your new ExtremeZ system. System Setup also provides instructions for reinstalling Windows NT
system software. Use your System Setup if you need more information about setting up and
configuring your system.

TDZ 2000 Late-Breaking News provides important hardware and software information not covered
in other documents. Review this document before referring to System Setup.

Microsoft's Windows NT Workstation Start Here and online Help provide detailed Windows NT
Workstation information.

For basic information about your system's hardware, an introduction to your new system is
provided in the TDZ 2000 System Introduction. The online System Introduction covers subjects
such as system features, system controls and connections, and Intergraph customer support. See
System Setup for more information.

Detailed hardware reference information for your new system is available in the online TDZ 2000
System Reference. This document covers subjects such as system components, system wiring
diagrams and functional block diagrams, system board descriptions, and upgrading and servicing
