1. Can you leave the batteries in the RD 27 radio when using the radio from the mains? 2. If so, will it charge re-chargeable batteries when the radio is plugged in from the mains?

You can leave batteries in the Roberts RD-27 radio while using it from the mains. However, the manual does not mention any charging capability for rechargeable batteries when the radio is plugged into the mains.

    4. If the radio is not to be used for any extended period of time it is recommended that the batteries are removed from the radio. We would recommend for economy that the RD-27 is used on the mains whenever possible with battery operation for occasional or stand-by use only.

If a station has a secondary service associated with it the display will show ">" next to the station name on the station list. The secondary service will then appear immediately after the primary service as you turn the tuning control.
