idler Pulley Rod
Afterthe belttensionhasbeenadjusted, i fthebeltis excessively s tretched,
youmayneedtoadjustthe idlerpulleyrod.Thiscanbe checked easily.
With theengineoff and the clutchcontrolbail disengaged,shiftthe
gear selectionhandleto eachforwardmode. If the indicatorbracket
touchesthe idler pulleyrod with theclutchcontrol bail disengaged,
thenan adjustmentis necessary.
1. Disconnectand groundthe spark plugwire againsttheengine.
2. Removethebelt coveras describedunderBelt Replacement
earlierin this section.
3. Removethecotterpin and springwasherfrom the idler pulleyrod.
