1. Before operating thissplitter, r eadand understand t hismanual
completely. Become familiar with it for yourownsafety. T ofail

ordering replacement parts.
2. Never useyour splitterfor any other purpose than splitting
wood.It is designed for this useandanyother usemaycause
an injury. Y ourlogsplitter is a precisionpieceof powerequip-
ment,nota toy.Therefore, exercise extreme caution at alltimes.
3. Neverallowchildren to operate yourlogsplitter. D o not allow

PREPARATION
1. Never wearlooseclothing or jewelrythat can be caught by
moving parts of yourlogsplitter a ndpullyouintoit. Keep cloth-
ingaway fromall moving partsofyourlogsplitter.
2. Wear properheadgearto keephairawayfrom movingparts.
Always wearprotectivehearing devices asneeded.
3. Always wearsafetyshoes.A dropped logcanseriously injure
yourfoot.
4. Alwayswear safetyglassesor goggles while operating your
splitter. A pieceof splitting logcould fly offandhityoureyes.
5. Wearleather workgloves. B esuretheyaretightfittingwithout
loose cuffsordrawstrings.
6. Useyourlogsplitter i n daylight, or under good artificial light.
7. Neveroperate yoursplitter on slippery, wet,muddyor icysur-
faces. Safefooting is essential in preventing a ccidents. Never
operate yoursplitter w hileattached t o a towing vehicle.
