the engine is running.Shutthe engineoff andwait untilall movingparts
havecometo acompletestop. Disconnect t he spark plug wire and
groundit againstthe engine.
PREPARAT(ON
Thoroughlyinspectthe areawherethe equipmentisto be used. Remove
all rocks,bottles,cans, or otherforeignobjectswhichcould be picked up
or thrown andcausepersonalinjury or damageto the machine.

Alwayswearsafetyglasses or safetygoggles duringoperationor while
performingan adjustmentor repair,to protecteyes. Thrownobjects
which ricochetcan causeserious injury to the eyes.

Wear sturdy, rough-soledwork shoesandclose-fittingslacksand shirts.
Loosefitting clothesor jewelry can be caughtin movableparts. Never
operate this machinein barefeet or sandals.Wear leatherwork gloves
when feedingmaterialinthe chipperchute.

Beforestarting,check all bolts andscrewsfor proper tightnessto be
sure the machineis in safe workingcondition.Also, visuallyinspect
machinefor any damageatfrequentintervals.

Maintainor replacesafetyand instructionslabels, as necessary.

To avoidpersonalinjury or propertydamageuse extremecare in
handlinggasoline.Gasolineis extremelyflammable andthe vapors are
explosive.Seriouspersonalinjury can occur when gasolineis spilled on
yourself or your clotheswhichcan ignite.Washyour skinandchange
clothesimmediately.

Useonly an approvedgasolinecontainer.

Extinguishall cigarettes,cigars,pipes,and othersourcesof ignition.

Neverfuel machineindoors.

Neverremovegas cap or addfuel whilethe engine is hot or running.

Allow engine to cool at least two minutesbefore refueling.

Neveroverfill fuel tank.Fill tank to no morethan 1/2 inch below bottom
of filler neckto providespacefor fuel expansion.

Replacegasolinecap andtighten securely.
o
If gasolineis spilled, wipeit off the engine andequipment.Move
machineto anotherarea.Wait 5 minutesbeforestartingthe engine.
o
Neverstore the machineor fuel container insidewherethere is an open
flame, spark,or pilot light (e.g.furnace, waterheater,spaceheater,
clothesdryer,etc.).
o
To reduceafire hazard,keep machinefree of grass, leaves,or other
debris build-up.Clean up oil or fuel spillage and removeany fuel soaked
debris.
o
Allow machineto cool at least 5 minutes beforestoring.
