/Ibs. to securethe augerpulleyassemblyon the input shaft.
12. If also replacingthe drivebelt, proceedto the "DriveBelt"
instruction.If not, repositionthe transmissionframeback onto
the auger housing.Installthe drivebelton theengine pulley,
re-connectthe augercable"Z" fittingand augeridler rodferrule
to the brakebracket.Repositionand securethe enginepulley
beltguard,and re-installthe belt cover.
NOTE:Makesureto removethe pieceof woodblockingthe impeller.
Checktheauger drivebeltadjustment. With theaugerclutch lever
in thedisengagedposition,the top surfaceof the newbelt shouldbe
evenwith the outsidediameterof the pulley.
Toadjust,disconnectferrulefrom brakebracketassembly.Thread
ferrulein (towardsidler) to increasetensionon belt,or out to decrease
belttension.
NOTE:Thebrakepuck mustalwaysbe firmlyseatedin the pulley
groovewhenaugercontrol is disengaged.
IMPORTANT: R epeatthe "AugerDriveControlTest"from the As-
semblysectionbeforeoperatingsnow thrower.
Drive
Belt Replacement
If notalreadydone,removethe augerdrivebelt from thefront pulleyof
the enginedoublepulley.Referto "AugerBeltReplacement" instruc-
tions inthe previoussub-section.
1.
a. Pull the idlerpulleyawayfrom the backsideof the drivebeltto
relievethe tension.See Figure30.
b. Slip the drivebelt off the idlerpulley. Carefullyreleasethe idler
pulley.
2.
Rollthe drive beltoff the lowerdrive pulley.
3.
Removethe beltfrom the enginepulley.
4.
Installthe newbelt on the pulleysin the reverseorderand
re-tension with the idlerpulley.
5.
Reassemble by performing the previousstepsinthe opposite
order and mannerof removal.
CHANGING
FRICTION
WHEEL
The rubberon the frictionwheelis subjectto wearand shouldbe
checkedperiodically.Replacethe frictionwheelifany signsof wearor
crackingare found.

Runthe unit'sfuel tank dry beforeperformingStep2.
2.
Tip thesnow throwerup and forward,so that it restson the
housing.
3.
Removescrewsfrom the framecover underneaththesnow
thrower(referto Figure31). Removethe rightwheelfrom the axle.
