Wheel drive control
Refer tothe Adjustment
section ofthe Assembly
instructions
toadjust
the wheel drive c ontrol, To further check the adjustment,
proceed as
follows:
1. With the snow thrower tipped f orward (becertain torun the
fuel tank dry before tipping theunit f orward), remove the frame
cover underneath
the snow thrower byremoving
the self-tapping
screws.
2. Locate the opening between the axle support bracket and
the front frame s upport (See Figure 21). L ooking through this
opening, with the wheel drive control released,
there m ust be
clearance
between the friction wheel and the drive p late i nall
positions ofthe shift l ever.
3. With the wheel drive c ontrol engaged,
the friction wheel must
contact the drive p late. See Figure 21.
4. Ifthere i snofriction wheel clearance,
orthe friction wheel does
not s olidly contact the drive p late, re-adjust the lock nut o nthe
lower end ofthe drive c able f ollowing
the instructions
inthe
Assembly
section.
5. Reassemble
the frame c over.
Chute Bracket
Ifthe spiral atthebottom o fthe chute d irectional
control
isnotfully
engagingwith the chuteassembly,the chute bracketcan be adjusted.
Todo so:
1.
Loosenthe two nuts which securethechute bracketand reposi-
tion it slightly.See Figure22.
2.
Retightenthe nuts.
Auger Control
Referto the Assemblysectionfor instructionson adjustingtheauger
controlcable.
Skid Shoes
Referto the Assemblysectionfor instructionson adjustingthe skid
shoes.
BELT REPLACEMENT
Belt Removal
Preparation
1.
Disconnectthe chute crankassemblyat the dischargechute end
by removingthe hairpinclipand the flat washer.Referto Figure
23.
2.
Removetheplasticbelt cover,locatednearthe engine,by remov-
ing the threeself-tappingscrewsthat secureit. See Figure24.
3.
Loosenthe bolt shownin Figure25 securingthe belt keeper
bracketand removetheother bolt. Pushthe belt keeperand
bracketup off the enginepulley.
Auger Belt Replacement
1.
Removethehairpinclip and flat washerfrom theferrulein orderto
disconnectthe augeridler rod from the brakebracketassembly.
