AUTOMATIC
ROASTING
Auto Roast uses the temperature
probe to cook to
the desired
serving
temperature.
Unlike
Temp
Cook/Hold,
which uses a single power level,
Auto Roast uses up to 3 power
settings
which
automatically
switch
during
roasting,
thus
providing
even, tender cooking
results
without
overcooking.
Just as in regular roasting,
only tender roasts should
be Auto Roasted until specified
internal temperatures
are reached. Less tender roasts should be microwaved
by time.
How to Use the Temperature
Probe
Place the probe so that the point
rests in the center of the thickest
mealy part of the roast, or into the
cut end or the meatiest part of
boneless
ham or lamb. The point
should not touch bone, fat or
gristle. For bone-in ham or lamb,
insert the probe into the center of
the lowest large muscle or joint.
Insert the probe into the meatiest
part of the inner thigh, below and
parallel to the leg of a whole
turkey.
For dishes such as meatloafor
casserole,
insert the probe into
the center.
