Generator
Maintenance
Generator
maintenance
consists
of keeping the unit dean
and dry. Operate
and store the unit in a dean
dry
environment
where
it wiHHnot be exposed
to excessive
dust, dirt, moisture
or any corrosive
vapors.
CooHing air
shots in the generator
must not become
cHoKed with snow,
Heaves or any other
foreign
materiaH.
NOTE:
DO NOT
use a garden
hose to dean generator.
VVater can enter
engine fuel system
and cause probHems. In
addition,
if water
enters
generator
through
cooHing air shots,
some of the water
wiHH be retained
in voids and cracks of
the rotor
and stator
winding
insuHation._A/ater
and dirt
buiHdup on the generator
internaH windings
wiHH eventuaHHy
decrease
the insuHation resistance
of these
windings.

Cleaning
* Use a damp cHoth to wipe exterior
surfaces
dean.

DO

expose
generator
to
excessive
moisture,
dust,
dirt,
or
corrosive
vapors_
DO NOT insert any objects through cooJing sJots.
Use a soft bristle brush to Hoosen caked on dirt or oiH.
Use a vacuum
cHeaner to pick up Hoose dirt and debris.
Use How pressure
air (not to exceed
25 psi) to bHow away
dirt. Inspect coding
air shots and opening on generator.
These openings
must be kept dean and unobstructed.
