Changing
the
operative
direction
The operative
direction
of controls
is factory-
set as shown
below.
To increase
To decrease
If you need to mount
the rotary
commander
on
the right hand
side of the steering
column,
you
can reverse
the operative
direction.
Press _
for two seconds while
pushing the VOL control.

You can also change the operative direction of
these controls with the unit (see "Changing the
sound and display settings" on page 16).
Adjusting the sound
characteristics
You can adjust
the bass, treble, balance,
and
fader.
You can store the bass and treble levels
independently
for each source.

Select the item you want to adJust by
pressing _
repeatedly.
Each time you press

the item
changes
as follows:
BAS (bass) --* TRE (treble) --_ BAL (left-right)
--* FAD (front-rear)

Adjust the selected item by pressing
either side of
When adjusting
with the rotary
commander,
press _
and rotate the
VOL control.
Note
Adjust
within three seconds after selecting
the
item.
Attenuating the sound
Press _
on the rotary commander.
"ATT-ON"
flashes
momentarily.
To restore
the previous
volume
level, press
(_
again.

When the interface cable of a car telephone is
connected to the A TT lead, the unit decreases the
volume automatically
when a telephone call comes
in (Telephone A TT function).
