Make sureyou select good quality tapesfor your camcorder. Use of poor
quality tapesor tapesthat have beendamagedor mishandled can contaminate
the video heads,resulting in a snowy picture or no picture at ;allduring
playback. Becausethere is no control over the type of tape purchasedor
rentedby consumers,head cleaning is not covered under warranty. It is
considerednormal maintenance.
Erase Protection- Safety Tab
You can protect your video cassettes from being erased by closing the safety tab.
To erase a previous recording, just record over it.

To prevent erasure,
close safety tab and
expose red.
To record again,
open safety tab.
Red disappears.
The camcorder records and plays back
in standard speed (SP). Maximum
recording times for some 8mm
cassettes using SP speed are listed.
